چکیده

D uring exercise testing in patients with chronic heart failure and severely depressed left ventricular function, an increased variability of gas exchange with a phenomenon of periodic breathing with an oscillatory pattern in oxygen uptake (VO2) has been recognised. 1 Previous studies were performed in adult patients with chronic heart failure related to ischaemic heart disease. The aim of the present study was to analyse whether an increased interbreath variability for gas exchange with an oscillatory pattern could also be identified during exercise in children with cardiomyopathy. Moreover, we also analysed whether this new parameter correlates with cardiac function.

Right Ventricular Non-Compaction Cardiomyopathy in Children: Brief Review Literature

Right ventricular non-compaction cardiomyopathy (RVNC) is a genetic heterogeneous cardiomyopathy. Despite the increasing number of RVNC cases, the classification and natural history of this disorder are not completely clear. Also, because the pathogenic non-compaction cannot be easily differentiated from normal trabeculations, it is usually hard to accurately measure the prevalence of RV ...

Comparison of the effect of aerobic exercise in water with two different temperatures with outside water environment on the index of very low frequency waves of heart rate variability in active young men

Introduction and purpose: Cardiac response to body core temperature variation measured with the very low-frequency parameter of heart rate variability. The aim of this study was to investigate the variability of very low frequency due to different temperatures of aerobic training in water and dry. Materials and methods: 40 academic active male were selected as research subjects. Then, all subje...

The effects of different timings and severity of drought stress on gas exchange parameters of mungbean

Mungbean (Vigna radiata (L.) Wilczek) or green gram as a dryland grain legume is exposed to varied timings and severity of drought stress, resulting in variability in photoassimilate production. In order to evaluate some physiological responses in one mungbean cultivar to timing and severity of drought stress, a 3-replicate RCBD (randomized complete block design) field experiment was carried ou...

Effects of Wearing N95 Respirators and Surgical Masks during Progressive Running Exercise and High-Intensity Interval Training on Time- and Frequency-Domain Indicators of Heart Rate Variability

Background and purpose: Wearing face masks has become popular during the COVID-19 pandemic as a measure to prevent the spread of the virus. Some studies have pointed out the intervening role of these masks in the effect of exercise on the cardiovascular system. This study aimed at examining and comparing the effects of masking (N95 respirators and surgical masks) and not wearing a mask during e...
